David Leonhardt on mini-med plans

David Leonhart has a nice piece in the NYT today about mini-med plans.  While I’m often down on the PPACA, and disappointed with the slow and partial implementation, he makes an excellent point at the end:

The health care overhaul that passed Congress is far from ideal, as I have written many times in this space. But it does represent progress.

The fact that it is beginning to disrupt the status quo — that some insurance policies will eventually be eliminated and some inefficient insurers will have to leave the market altogether — is all the proof we need.

It also doesn’t hurt that he quotes yours truly (and links to this blog) in both his article and the accompanying blog post.

They are both worth a read.
