A doc fix in the deal?

OBAMA CLIFF OFFER TO INCLUDE PERMANENT DOC FIX? – The outline of President Barack Obama’s latest salvo appears to include a path to a permanent fix of the Medicare provider payment formula, according to a source familiar with negotiations. Although details were sparse yesterday night, the proposal inches both sides closer to an agreement that could jolt the health care community.

Oddly, the linked-to story associated with this blurb makes no mention of a doc fix. I’ve seen no mention of it elsewhere. So, what’s up? (Paging Sarah Kliff and Jon Cohn.)
