Even as the economy stalls the health care sector added 30,000 jobs last month. Sam Baker writes that no other sector comes close to this. The largest growth was seen in ambulatory health care services, with 18,000 new jobs. Aaron’s Comment: There’s so much going on here. Since we’re low on physicians compared to other countries, adding some doctors would be a good thing. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely many of these jobs were physicians. Adding other jobs to health care is likely going to raise spending, which is already a problem, especially in the already huge outpatient care sector.
