• Search frictions for TIE readers

The comments on our Questions for Readers post are terrific and very helpful. Please keep them coming. We’re (mostly) not going to respond to them in words. In time we may adjust what we do, so if we respond it’ll be in deeds.

One exception is this: At least two people have noticed the poor search function on the blog. It’s a known problem, and one we have not yet resolved for lack of time and expertise. It frustrates me too. However, there is another way to search the TIE. This is how I do it: Go to Google and enter

    site:theincidentaleconomist.com [your search terms]

Once you’ve done this once, Google will remember the entry. Next time you want to search the blog, just start typing “site:the …” and then pull up your old search and modify the end of it. This way, it’s a lot less typing.
