Anyone who was closely following my blogging back in the spring knows that I was (and am) fond of the federal fallback version of a public health insurance option. That’s an idea that Olympia Snowe also promoted and may still favor. Guess what. She’s become the central figure in passing health reform. The Administration is apparently now talking to her about the fallback option. (This is beginning to sound like a football play.)
It is very rare for me to pick a winning legislative idea, but it is starting to look like I may have done so. Of course it isn’t over yet. It isn’t even clear we’re in the fourth quarter or which team has the ball.
