The fact sheet that accompanied Obama’s speech today included the following goal:
Give IPAB additional tools to improve the quality of care while reducing costs, including allowing it to promote value-based benefit designs that promote proven services like prevention without shifting costs to seniors.
What’s value-based benefit design? (It’s also called value-based insurance design or V-BID.) I’ve written about this, but not lately. Here’s a tutorial post. Here are some more.
