My colleagues and I are hosting the 2nd Annual Children’s Health Services Research Symposium  in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 10-12. It’s an AHRQ-funded meeting, and the first one was awesome. It’s for people engaged in the field at all levels of training. Details:

Please join us for the 2nd Annual International Children’s Health Services Research Symposium in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 10-12, 2014! This symposium brings together pediatric health services researchers and fellows from across the country and the world for a series of talks by luminaries in the field, as well as new talent, in a forum that emphasizes lots of time for conversation and networking. This year’s topic is Comparative Effectiveness Research.

The keynote speaker will be Richard Wasserman, MD, MPH (Vermont Children’s Hospital). Other speakers include Gary Freed, MD, MPH (University of Michigan & University of Melbourne), Beth Tarini, MD, MS (University of Michigan), Earnestine Willis, MD, MPH (Medical College of Wisconsin), Maria Britto, MD, MPH (Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center), and Nancy Swigonski, MD, MPH (Indiana University). The CHSR symposium will take place over and two and a half day period and will include poster presentations, breakout sessions to assist with career development, and a debate. It will be held at the Health Information and Translational Sciences Building at Indiana University School of Medicine, located on the downtown Indianapolis canal.

Junior faculty and fellows will be able to submit abstracts for review, with the opportunity to present their work in a national audience of experts in the field.

But here’s the exciting part: I’ve convinced Austin to come and join us. So this is a RARE opportunity to see the two of us together. We’re going to host an informal workshop/discussion on academic blogging, and likely a Special Interest Group dinner on social media, or something related, on the first night. The second night, there’s a gala event at the Indiana State Museum.

The event is limited to 100 people, and you can go here for more details. Registration is free, and can be accomplished here. If you need housing, there’s a group rate available here.
