I can’t figure out what to title this post. Just fricking read it. It’s short.

I rewrote the title of this post at least ten times, and then gave up. I lack the words.

I just read this story (An Unbelievable Story of Rape) at ProPublica (h/t Charles Ornstein) and I’m not sure I’m going to be able to get anything done this morning. It’s not just the content (although it will both amaze you and break your heart). It’s also the skill of the journalists who wrote this thing. It’s goddamn amazing.

There are days when I think I’m getting better at writing. And then there are days when I see it done with such skill that I realize there are people out there at an entirely different evolutionary stage than me.

Every once in a while, it’s good to be reminded how unbelievably talented journalists can be. And why they’re so f$@#ing important.
