• From the Other Austin Frakt

All but a few of you know me as a blogger. But I’m rarely that. At work I’m in large part, but not exclusively, a programmer of sorts. I write Stata code to analyze data for my research. The code can be complicated and I “enjoy” my fair share of debugging.

Right now I’m preparing myself for entry into coding hell. I found a bad bug. I know a lot about it, but not enough. I’ve cornered it, and it is cowering in a very complicated glop of code. I might be there a while.

    • That’s how I spent my Friday — tracking down and fixing a rather horrifying bug in a fundamental piece of my utility library, which has probably made its way into the results of every paper I’ve published. (Fortunately, it doesn’t invalidate my results.) Best of luck!
