Friends of the blog Karen Joynt, Atul Gawande, John Orav, and Ashish Jha have a new paper in JAMA that addresses Medicare spending, entitled, “Contribution of Preventable Acute Care Spending to Total Spending for High-Cost Medicare Patients”. Austin and I have authored an editorial in the same issue, “New Evidence Supports, Challenges, and Informs the Ambitions of Health Reform.”
