I watched less of the convention last week than I had planned, mostly because I’ve become convinced that for someone interested in policy, there’s very little to be gained by paying attention to speeches.
That said, I did catch most of the major presentations. While some lip service was paid to Medicare, and the conflicting arguments of “we’re not cutting enough” and “we shouldn’t cut it”, I was struck by the utter lack of discussion at all about Medicaid.
Regular readers of the blog know of my passion for Medicaid and my concern for its future. I’m not optimistic this week will be much better, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong.
