Health economist Austin Frakt will present a program describing “The Great Challenge: The U.S. Health Care Crisis and the Complexities of Reform,” at the Melrose Unitarian Universalist Church, 70 West Emerson St. (opposite the Melrose Public Library) on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Frakt has a joint appointment with the Department of Health Policy and Management at Boston University’s School of Public Health and Health Care Financing & Economics at the Boston VA Healthcare System, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He will discuss the issue that today the U.S. health system suffers from problems on three fronts: high cost, low quality, and poor access for some to good, affordable, and timely care.
