TIE to be funded, in part, by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

I’m very pleased to announce that, beginning September 15th, The Incidental Economist will be supported, in part, by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. This is good news for readers because it means TIE bloggers no longer have to squeeze blogging around other, funded activities. Writing for TIE will soon be part of our jobs. Under terms of the agreement, TIE bloggers will retain full editorial control, so nothing will change other than TIE will be better.

Even though the contract doesn’t officially start until September 15th, we have been preparing for it. You may have already noticed changes and new features. We’ll be continuing those and adding more, even in advance of our official start date.

Austin Frakt, PhD, is co-Editor-in-Chief of The Incidental Economist. His day job is Associate Director of the Partnered Evidence-based Policy Resource Center at the Boston VA Healthcare System, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He is also a Professor with the Department of Health Law, Policy and Management at the Boston University’s School of Public Health, a Principal Research Scientist with the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Health Services Research.
