Sound Medicine – The Supreme Court and the individual mandate

Sound Medicine is a radio show produced by the Indiana University School of Medicine and WFYI Public Radio. In the last few years, I’ve become their go-to guy on health policy. So, for those of you who would find your day brightened by the sound of my voice, enjoy the following:

Interview: Aaron Carroll, MD
Director, Center for Health Policy and Professionalism Research
Indiana University School of Medicine

This week the Supreme Court begins hearing oral arguments about the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act passed by Congress in 2010. The court is expected to rule in late June or early July.

On the show this week, Sound Medicine’s health policy expert Aaron Carroll, MD, addresses the crux of the argument, the “individual mandate” – the requirement that each person buy health insurance, or pay a penalty.
