Healthcare Triage is now an award winning show!

The National Institute for Health Care Management (NIHCM), a nonprofit dedicated to improving the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of the U.S. health care system, gives out awards each year for healthcare journalism. This year, for the first time ever, they gave out an award in digital media (in addition to print journalism, television and radio, and research).

I am ridiculously pleased to announce that Healthcare Triage won. We’re over the moon.

I know it’s cliché to say it’s an honor to be nominated, but just a few months ago, I swear we were thrilled just to be in the list of finalists. There were some heavy hitters on that list, and we were shocked to be among them. They’re all doing amazing work:

I think I speak for all three of us when I say that this award means a huge amount to us. When we talk about Healthcare Triage, Stan, Mark, and I are the entire media organization. It’s just three of us, start to finish, with the occasional guest appearance from John. We have no institutional backing, and there’s no organization outside of this.

HCT has always been a labor of love, and we’ve done it just because we believed in it. We’ve been thrilled to see that others seem to like it, too. The recognition of the NIHCM only makes us want to do more.

Thanks to all of you for your support!!!
